Masculine Monday Watch of The Week: Ulysse Nardin Freak 020-88
Today we’re featuring one of our more jaw-dropping watches: the Ulysse Nardin Freak. This watch happens to be the priciest item in our online showroom, and it’s extremely unique look is the only thing stopping us from putting it on our list of The Watches Every Man Should Own as our showpiece watch. We figure that if every guy owned it, it would take away the novelty from this striking piece. Behold:
The Freak is a collectible and unique watch we’ve had in our showcase for a few years – it’s still waiting for the perfect horophile to give it the perfect home. The watch, launched in 2001, features a carillon tourbillon that rotates once an hour along a hidden track beneath the bezel. The bezel has a lock system that prevents the time adjuster from moving unintentionally. The one of a kind 28 jewel movement is completely enclosed by the tourbillon, and is manual with a “Dual Ulysse” escapement that doesn’t need lubrication. It’s not water resistant, so keep that alligator strap completely dry.
