The Year's Hottest Work Wear Trends

The Year's Hottest Work Wear Trends

Work Wear Trends

From sophisticated to casual, these are the hottest work wear trends to keep you fashionable year long.

Fall

Whenever I think about fall weather, I think of work wear. Am I alone? The fall colors of dark brown, burgundy and teal are perfect for a fashionable day at the office. It’s a season of colors that are conservative, without shying away from festivity.
The best garment for the chilly afternoons is the oh-so-cozy knitted sweater. Kenneth Cole has a New York sweater shrug in dark brown that’s professional for the office, but also casual enough to wear out to lunch with friends. I wouldn’t pick any other cami to go underneath this sweater but the dark olive camisole shown in the picture. Olive is another color that’s perfect for fall. Finish the outfit with a sleek khaki trouser or a black pencil skirt like the Theory Golda, available at Bloomingdale’s.

Winter

‘Tis the season for red and gold. It may not be Winter anymore, but the combination of red and gold accessories is a trend that’s here to stay. I like to keep this regal combination simple by using jewelry, like the Chain Wrap Bracelet from Endless. It’s a perfect way to stay work chic, and the versatility of the design allows you to wear it both as a bracelet and a necklace.

Spring

I label this season the official ‘Welcome Home’ party for your legs. Sunshine is here and it’s time to show off your legs in a fabulous chiffon skirt. They’re light, airy and perfect for a casual day at the office. One of my favorites is the Crinkle Chiffon Skirt from J. Crew. Choose pastels because they sing the optimism of Spring, but are also appropriate for the work place. Wear it with your favorite flats and a similar striped shirt or a light cardigan. Either way, you can’t go wrong. It’s also the perfect time for some pastels, and this pale purple kunzite halo pendant is perfect.

Summer

What I like about Summer trends is the multitude of style combinations to look corporate classy and keep the flirtatious feel of Summer. One trick this Summer is to incorporate white pants to your outfit. You can’t go wrong with the slim cropped pants by Eileen Fisher. These stylish bottoms will look great with a light grey button-up blouse tucked in at the waist and a navy blazer. Try the “all-time favorite” school boy blazer from J. Crew. Finish this outfit with your favorite pair of flats.
