Rafael Nadal, the King of Clay

Rafael Nadal, the King of Clay

Biting his 7th trophy, Nadal breaks another record and becomes the player with the most French Open titles in history surpassing Bjorn Borg’s accomplishments. In four exciting sets, Novak Djokovic found Nadal’s powerful groundstrokes too overwhelming and Nadal’s skill and heart was all that could be seen on the clay, his area of expertise.

After being interrupted by a untimely shower, the prestigious tennis tournament ended last Monday instead of Sunday. But for Nadal, the sun did shine after the rain and he embraced his family and friends after the win showing them true appreciation for their emotional support.

But you will never see a king without his bling. You will often see celebrities posing with jewelry for ads and commercials. But rarely you see a star wearing a $525,000 timepiece while playing a real tennis match!

Having Nadal wear this precious and rare watch (there’s only 50 being manufactured) throughout the tournament makes the advertising that much more effective. Weighing just 20 grams, the slick timepiece got attention from fans and watch aficionados  (and hotel barmen) all the same.  Its brilliant design and movement, especially at the hands of one of the strongest wrists in the world, performed marvelously matching the potent character of its owner.
