OPI’s New Gold Nail Polish: What You Need to Know

Now you can have your own “Goldfinger.” Literally.

In honor of the 50th anniversary of Ian Fleming’s iconic British spy James Bond, the nail polish manufacturer OPI has introduced gold nail polish. But we’re not talking some off-the-shelf gold-colored nail polish that you slap on just for show. No, OPI’s nail polish consists of 18 karat (!) gold. Now that’s doing “the man with the golden gun” justice. Or perhaps it’s a tribute to Gert Frobe’s iconic Auric Goldfinger character from the 1964 film that shares the character’s name. Let’s just call it the ultimate nail polish for any fan of James Bond, from the Sean Connery era to the new Daniel Craig era.

Here’s a closer look at the nail polish and it’s bottle:

As you can see from the above photo, it’s a gold-flake polish. OPI’s new nail polish innovation was recently announced on the company’s Facebook page. It should come as no surprise to you that it will be packaged in a gold bottle. Check out an image of the gold bottle packaging below:

Oh, and if OPI’s nail polish isn’t enough to get you in the James Bond spirit, we’d be remiss to mention that the next installment of the 007 movie franchise – and 23rd total film – Skyfall, opens in theaters on November 9. But like how the movie will only be in theaters for so long, the OPI 18 karat nail polish is also limited edition, so be sure to get it while you can.
