We had so much fun live tweeting the Emmy’s red carpet last night! It was great to join in with the rest of the social jewelry-sphere to discuss the great moments in Emmy Jewelry (or lack thereof). It was also nice to have people to commiserate with when Ryan Seacrest inevitably failed to ask who designed the jewelry (and sometimes even the gowns!) But in addition to the jaw-dropping gowns on the ladies (lookin’ at you Sofia!) the gents pulled out all the stops too. Here’s our list for Best Dressed Emmys 2012 – The Guys.
This Big Bang star stunned in a velvet jacket. While it might have aged a guy a few years older (or even one who looked a few years older), baby-faced Parsons pulls it off. It also works perfectly on his thin frame to make him look sleek and not bulky.
Yes, it’s a basic tuxedo. But Jon Hamm makes the list on sheer handsomeness alone. He kept the fit of his Armani tux pretty classic – no tight tailoring for Hamm (maybe he’s playing it safe after The Pants Incident) and it works with his classic good looks.
Jimmy looks as tailored as he usually does on his show, but with an elegant upgrade. This Lanvin tux is neatly tailored to him and he looks like he was made to wear it. We’ll forgive the messy bow-tie – we imagine Jimmy is so permanently hyped up that he couldn’t sit still long enough to tie it symmetrically.
Our favorite New Girl star wins red carpet rookie of the year in a Black Fleece tux. A peek of cuff (wish we could get a close up on his cufflinks) and debonair coif make him look classically handsome. That subtle clean line of white pocket square is so decidedly un-Schmidt-like that it rocked our world.
Quinto proves that color can work on the red carpet in a sleek gray Dior tux. We like that he stepped outside the box. Quinto’s not afraid to take risks and they nearly always pay off. Aaron Paul also worked the colored tux trend, but his muted brown didn’t look nearly as sophisticated as Quinto does in Dior.
