Watch of the Week: The Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711R
A special occasion calls for a special watch, so this New Year’s Eve edition of Watch of the Week – indeed the last watch of the week for 2012 is this Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711R. We love a Patek Philippe any day of the year, but there’s something to be said for watching midnight strike on the finest luxury timepiece while ringing in the new year.
The Nautilus is one of Patek’s most iconic designs, and its cushion shaped case adds a mid-century sensibility to the Gerald Genta curves. of the case, which at 43mm is on the substantial end of the Patek spectrum.
A thinly textured black dial features stick markers finished in gold polish surrounded by a brushed rose gold case, rose gold end pieces and lugs.
The Nautilus’ gorgeous cognac colored gator strap is accented with tone on tone stitching that only elevates this Patek’s prestige. A skeleton case back gives you a peak at arguably the finest movement in luxury watches, sealing the deal for us. We can’t take our eyes off this watch, and we haven’t even started counting down yet!
