As if Kobe Bryant doesn’t have enough bling. The L.A. Laker superstar already has 5 NBA championship rings, and now Swiss luxury watchmaker Hublot has recently announced Bryant will be a brand ambassador for them.
In a March 20th press conference not only was Kobe name brand ambassador, but it was announced that Hublot would be creating a limited edition watch in recognition of the occasion. Bryant’s signature watch will be called the Hublot King Power Black Mamba. Kobe’s nickname is “Black Mamba”.
The timepiece will have a snake around the counter at 9 o’clock at the player’s number 24 at the 6 o’clock marker.
Hublot’s CEO, Ricardo Guadalupe, stated in a press release that “We could not be more excited to add Kobe Bryant to our roster of brand ambassadors, all of whom are living testimonies to athletic superiority and perseverance.” Kobe joins fellow NBA player Dwayne Wade of the Miami Heat, Olympian Usain Bolt and soccer star Diego Maradona as ambassadors for the brand.
As part of the arrangement Hublot will provide visibility and financial support for the Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation. The foundation seeks to improve the lives of youths and families in need. Hublot hosted a children’s shootout on March 20th to benefit the After School All-Stars, supported by the foundation. A portion of the proceeds of Kobe’s signature watches will also go to the foundation.
You may recall that back in January Hublot became Official Timekeeper of the Lakers. This arrangement with the team’s superstar would seem to further solidify the brands relationship with the NBA franchise.
The Lakers are struggling to stay in the playoff hunt this year but one way or another, Kobe is adding to his bling!
