Majestic Pink Diamond up for "Dibs" Tomorrow
Tomorrow, one of the most exciting diamond sales this summer will kick off on 1st Dibs. Fellow 1st dibs seller and our friends from the Naples Antique Show M.S. Rau Antiques are selling a stunning 12.27 pink diamond tomorrow. The diamond, called the Majestic Pink diamond, is a GIA certified Type IIa diamond.
According to JCK, the majestic pink is:
“…one of only a handful of that type of pink diamond known to exist in the world—and is set in 18k rose gold and platinum. A Type IIa designation means that the diamond lacks any trace of nitrogen, which can give a diamond a yellow tint, giving the stone greater optical transparency.”
The Majestic pink is a VVS1 diamond, with that exceptional Type IIa distinction – a title less than 2% of diamonds hold. This classification means the diamond has incredible optics, and also means the majestic pink is in the same class as other famous pinks like the Cullinian I and Koh-i-Noor. The diamond’s asking price is $7.85 million.
The diamond will go on display tomorrow online, but those who wish to admire this fabulous stone can check it out at the Baltimore Summer Antiques Show from August 23-26.
