Gold Metal Engagement Rings
Tonight’s the night! The Olympic Opening ceremony for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio is finally upon us. We can’t wait to see the Brazilian flare in full force, along with the parade of athletes from every nation (USA! USA!)
We can’t wait to see how many gold medals our teams take home (especially women’s gymnastics, women’s soccer, and Michael Phelps!) Luckily, we surround ourselves with gold metals daily to keep our own eyes on the prize. And we don’t need a podium to try ours on – and neither do you.
Today, in honor of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio FINALLY kicking off, we’re sharing a few of our favorite gold “metal” engagement rings. Take home the gold!

Our own opening ceremony begins with this two-tone fancy yellow engagement ring. Layers upon layers of diamond pavé in both fancy yellow and white intertwine like the Olympic rings themselves. Bowed split shanks come together for an infinity twist that turns bright gold before opening up into the two-tone halo embracing a gorgeous cushion cut center diamond. That fancy yellow is .30 carats of VS clarity perfection. The fancy yellow diamond pavé adds another .25 carats, and the white diamonds (G/H color, VS clarity) add another .32ctw to this 14kt gold setting.

Next, one of our all time faves. This Tacori Gold beauty is a floral inspired ray of sunshine. The setting is a rich 18 karat yellow gold, and the accent diamonds add half a carat to the delicate band and perfectly placed halo. We love how the prong style on the halo keeps things sculpted for a very diamond-intense look, but the smooth gold prongs on the center diamond add even more warmth and richness to the ring’s aerial perspective. The diamonds are, of course, Gorgeous and Very Sexy.

In Tacori Land (aka California, where every heirloom-quality ring is designed and handcrafted), all diamonds are Gorgeous and Very Sexy. This means they are G color and VS clarity. This rule makes for consistently clear, sparkly accent diamonds worthy of the Tacori signature. This particular cushion cut setting uses plenty of them. 1.28 carats of round brilliant diamonds decorate the ring’s shanks, halo, and intricately carved gallery. It can accommodate center diamonds starting at 2 carats in round shapes, but remember than any Tacori rings can be customized without any modification fee.

Simon G. engagement rings are known for stepping away from the typical and into the glow of the extraordinary. This gold medal ring (made of gold metal) is no exception. Smooth cords of 18 karat yellow gold are loosely braided to create the ring’s foundation, while bright ribbons of diamond pavé set in 18 karat white gold weave in and out, arriving at the solitaire diamond of your choice. The accent diamonds add .17ctw to this beautiful setting.

Another two-tone gold ring is our next event, and this massive 3.02 carat , VS1 clarity cushion cut fancy yellow demanded a standing ovation from its setting. First, we wrapped the center diamond itself in a unique half prong/half bezel set style. You see the squared off yellow gold prongs keeping this secure, but notice the thin ribbon of yellow gold filling the negative space between the diamond and the halo. This gives the diamond a bigger face-up appearance and enhances the yellow of the stone. Moving to the outer rings, you’ll see gorgeous white diamond micropave arranged in a closely set double halo, bordered by white gold milgrain for added texture. We could have stopped there, but we knew the shanks needed a little something extra – enter those yellow gold scallops. They’re open and airy to balance out the major width of this ring, and studded with fancy yellow diamond pavé. The borders of white gold are also set with white diamonds, and the finishing touch is a yellow gold gallery with – you guessed it – more diamonds. All told, the pavé on this ring adds another .78ctw of round brilliant white (G color) and yellow (fancy yellow) diamonds with a VS clarity.

And one last entry before our gold metal ceremony. This Tacori beauty is sculpted from 18 karat gold and set with those Gorgeous, Very Sexy diamonds for a look that’s uniquely organic, but polished. The diamonds add .42ctw to the setting, and it accommodates a center stone of your choice in your desired carat weight. It has a matching wedding band that elevates it even more.
