The Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este is considered by some as the most significant of events that celebrate and salute historic automobiles. History traces the event back to 1929. Since its return in the 1990s The Concorso continues to improve its reputation. A beautiful setting at the Grand Hotel Villa d’Este, superb hospitality, and the elegance of the preservation of rare and original automobiles give this event a sense of aristocracy. The international press is very visible at The Concorso. No, this not your ordinary “car show”.

“Best of Show” is Awarded this A Lange & Sohne Timepiece

While blatant commercialism is discouraged at The Concorso, there are certainly opportunities for product placement, endorsements and marketing. Consider the participation of luxury watch manufacture A Lange & Sohne. A Lange & Sohne are an event sponsor for the second straight year. They are once again creating a commemorative watch for this year’s “Best of Show” winner. The watch features a hand-engraved caseback that has the coat of arms of the Concorso d’Eleganza on it.

Today, A Lange & Sohne, which traces its history back to 1845, produces only a few thousand watches per year. Each timepiece is made of gold or platinum and is hand assembled.
