Best Dressed on the American Music Awards Red Carpet 2012

The American Music Awards Red Carpet 2012 showed off some of the biggest stars and divas in the music world. Dick Clark started the American Music Awards in 1973 when ABC’s contract with the Grammys ended.

Since then, 2012 marked the 40th anniversary of the the American Music Awards, showing tribute to artists like Justin Bieber, winner of the artist of the year award; Luke Bryan, favorite male Country music artist; and Nicki Minaj, favorite Rap/Hip-Hop artist and winner of the album of the year award within her genre.

As with every red carpet award show, fashion is a top priority. Take a look at some of the best jewelry seen on the AMA red carpet this year.

A stunning and curvy Christina Aguilera announced winners at the AMA awards this year, but stunned on the red carpet in her snug purple dress and gorgeous silver charm necklace all framed by purple and pink locks.

Lucy Hale wore a necklace similar to Christina’s: a silver figaro-link charm necklace with oversized white gemstones–very glamorous. Lucy Hale is notorious for sporting unique, inexpensive jewelry styles.

Gwen Stefani looked rather reserved this year compared to many of her fashion choices in the past. Her simple and delicate white gold, opera-length necklaces were perfectly subtle surrounded by her pearl adorned jacket.

The partying bad-girl of pop music, Ke$ha, toned it down this year after showing up to the AMAs in 2010 sporting a Mohawk. With a look that can even be described as fashionable, Ke$ha rocked this intricate, fall-fashion-forward ear cuff.

Carrie Underwood pleased in this floor-length sequined magenta gown while showing off intricate pink gold dangles.

Looks like the celebs engaged in most of the biggest fall trends: Dangly earrings, silver jewelry, bold colors– and even Nicki Minaj sported a very winter-forward statement necklace–much more pleasing and unlike her usual “fashion” statements!
