Hurricane Edition: Diamonds and Donuts Car Show & Hurricane Dorian Relief for the Bahamas
Here is a recap of the Hurricane Edition Diamonds and Donuts Car Show on Sept. 1, 2019, and our effort to support Hurricane Dorian Relief in The Bahamas.
This past weekend, Diamonds By Raymond Lee put on a Diamonds and Donuts Car Show. We are calling it The Hurricane Edition.
We came up with the idea on Saturday and by Sunday morning we had a small yet very impressive turnout.
For a spur of the moment party, and with all the hot rod and supercar owners in the area buttoning up for Hurricane Dorian, we were pleasantly surprised by how much greatness went on at this spontaneous and intimate Diamonds and Donuts car party.
In an effort to contribute to the Hurricane Relief in the Bahamas, Diamonds By Raymond Lee has been set up as a drop off location for supplies. We are working with Elnet Maritime Hurricane Relief Charity in The Bahamas on this. We also hope this post can help to raise awareness for Hurricane Dorian relief.
In this post, we are going to discuss the devastating, slow moving, category 5, Hurricane Dorian; Our efforts to get involved in the hurricane relief for Freeport, Bahamas; And, the super sports cars that made it to the Hurricane Edition Car Event at Diamonds by Raymond Lee.
Hurricane Dorian (Update: 9/4/2019)
To begin, we must discuss the seriousness of Hurricane Dorian with great solemnity and thoughtfulness.
This destructive and catastrophic storm threatens millions Stateside after already pummeling The Bahamas.
Over the weekend, Hurricane Dorian as a Category 5 was battering the Grand Bahamas Island.
As of writing this, 5 deaths have been confirmed. The hurricane has wiped out thousands of homes, forcing many people into makeshift rafts.
We have read reports that state the death toll may be much higher. News is slowly coming in as the Prime Minister of The Bahamas doesn’t want to cause panic. Not when the storm is still dumping rain and wind.
What we do know for sure is, the storm unleashed massive flooding. Shredding roofs, hurling cars and forcing rescue crews to take shelter.
The 70,000 people who call Grand Bahama Island home need help and we will do everything in our power to assist in providing relief. We urge anyone with the means to do the same.
We also have to be prepared and stay safe at our homes here on the East Coast of Florida. As the now Category 3 hurricane is headed our way.
As a Category 3 storm with maximum sustained winds of 120mph, its path will be one of destruction. We must remember that Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf’s coastline as a Category 3. So, this hurricane is not to be taken lightly.
Warning for Florida, Georgia and South Carolina
Although many people have evacuated ahead of Hurricane Dorian, many residents don’t want to leave.
The hurricane may get dangerously close to Florida’s east coast late Tuesday and into Wednesday.
As of now, Hurricane Dorian is weakening in intensity but growing in size. It is 100 miles off the Atlantic Coast and it is said to be moving 2 miles per hour.
It’s imperative that anyone in the path of the hurricane takes shelter.
The path is predicted to run along the coastline, moving North from West Palm Beach all the way up the Atlantic Coast past South Carolina, at which time it’s predicted to weaken to a Category 2 or 1.
Update: “According to the National Hurricane Center, the storm’s eye is currently passing to the east of Cape Canaveral. Maximum sustained winds of 110 mph have been recorded as the storm continues movement north at 7 mph.”

Who else decides to throw a car show a day before a massive category 5 hurricane?! Respect to everyone who brought a car to display and for supporting us and our efforts in providing relief for Hurricane Dorian.
With that, let’s present some of the supercars from our friends who took part in this last-minute Diamonds and Donuts Hurricane Edition Car Show.
Lamborghini Aventador SV Coupé
VIP parking went to @gold_m11 with his new matte grey Lamborghini Aventador SV.
For those who don’t know, the SV stands for SuperVeloce. The Aventador SV Coupé introduces groundbreaking innovation that set the tone for a new era of exotic super sports cars.
They completely redefined the concept with this one.
The SuperVeloce is the sportiest Lambo in history thanks to Lamborghini’s deliberate enhancements to its design. It has a revamped naturally aspirated V12 engine, engineering provisions made for ultra lightness, and a combination of inventive technological features like the magnetorheological push-rod suspension and the Lambo Dynamic Steering system.
Every component of the SV Aventador has been crafted based on the “Design to Weight” approach. So the goal was to have the lowest possible weight and the highest possible performance…and, to make it the fastest and most enthralling Lamborghini in history.
In our opinion, this is the purest form of a super sports car.
@gold_m11 has incredible taste, his Aventador SV is an absolute stunner, with its aerodynamics, use of carbon fiber, sexy matte grey finish, and the eye-catching red accents.
What’s a word for something beyond aesthetically pleasing? Because this is it.
He added a new SV Emblem at the rear. “Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.” – @gold_m11.
As for performance, it is unmatched, just like its looks, thanks to the naturally aspirated V12 engine.
The SV can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 3 seconds and it has a top speed of more than 217 mph, with a maximum power output of 750 CV and a maximum speed of up to 8,500 rpm.
What’s more, the control is impeccable for the skin-pulling high speeds it produces. It has outstanding dynamic behavior in all road conditions thanks to its preset STRADA, SPORT and CORSA driving modes. The electronically controlled 4WD receives reinforcement by the magnetorheological push-rod suspension and Lamborghini Dynamic Steering.

McLaren 720S
@boop14 showed up fashionably late in her lighter, stronger, faster McLaren 720S.
Here is a pic showing the ultimate luxury combination, the black and red McLaren 720S and the black and red Richard Mille RM11.
We’ve featured @boop14’s new McLaren 720S in a recent post – BOOP’S LIMITED EDITION RICHARD MILLE & NEW MCLAREN 720S SPIDER – so you can read all about her, her McLaren720S, and her Richard Mille RM11.
Nevertheless, let’s run through some McLaren 720S specs here…
McLaren went on an incessant quest to push the limits of possibility with this one, and we can say without a shadow of a doubt that they succeeded and exceeded expectations.
This great white shark of supercars has an exquisite form and razor-sharp function. From its aerodynamic, smooth flow structure that manipulates air for reduced drag and engine cooling. To its new and fearsomely powerful M840T engine with 720PS that has relentless power. This car is the definition of raising the limits.
For those who like to talk in terms of speed, the McLaren 720s is able to hit 212 mph at top speed and do 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds. Unfathomable yet remarkably true.
On a lighter note, the people of South Florida still have their humor about them. Here is a little “argument” about who gets the VIP front door spot. @boop14 “owns” the spot (we always park her in this spot, she’s awesome) but due to her arriving late, we gave it to our good friend @gold_m11. Lamborghini Aventador
@blkbst3 rolled up and spent the morning at Diamonds and Donuts with his newly wrapped all black Aventador.
The Lamborghini Aventador has unstoppable force. This is the supercar that brought the future of Lambo forward. It’s unquestionably a supercar legend in the making. It combines classic Lamborghini traditions with cutting edge innovations, thereby bringing the House of the Raging Bull to an obscurely impressive new dominion.
As for the design of the car, it is both aggressive and dynamic. It’s one of the most provocative cars in the game and it will surely get your adrenaline pumping at first sight.
The interior is equally as exclusive and high tech. Everything is hand-finished and extremely high quality.
Now, the cornerstone of the Aventador is its V12 engine, which is hand-made in Sant’Agata Bolognese and naturally balanced and longitudinally mounted in a medial locale.
The car has incredible acceleration at any speed, lightninglike reactivity, and an astonishing roar that makes it clear just how powerful this vehicle is. The Lamborghini Aventador can reach a top speed of 220 mph, and it goes 0 to 60 in 2.9 secs.
Speaking of speed, @blkbst3 is a man of great depth. He has owned many Murcielagos in the past and has set some very noteworthy IMRA World Speed Records which we are about to display.
Mclaren MP4
We had a special guest come out in his orange and black McLaren MP4.
All the black on this MP4 is carbon fiber. The owner has spent over $100k on upgrades alone.
The McLaren MP4, also known as the McLaren 12C is the first production car completely designed and built by McLaren. It was also McLaren’s first production road car developed since the McLaren F1.
The MP4-12C utilizes carbon composite chassis and is ran by a longitudinally mounted McLaren M838T 3.8L twin turbo V8 engine.
Its speed is no joke, but it will definitely make you laugh from fear and excitement. Its engine has around 600 PS at 7,500 rpm and about 443 lbf-ft of torque at 5,600 rpm.
The MP4 has a lot of innovative features and tech which make it one of the most alluring and fierce supercars on the road.
It has a top speed of around 218 mph and it can make a complete stop from 124 mph in under 5 seconds, so take a break (or should we say brake) from the worries of speed control.
To conclude this one, it was a real honor witnessing this high tech, turbocharged firepower, fine divine driving supercar firsthand.
Green Lamborghini Huracan
Remember @gold_m11 from the first feature in this post? Well, this Green Huracan is his “ex”.
He sold it to his friend @cat5_huracan who is doing a brand new innovative spin on this Huracan. He is changing everything from the rims and cosmetics to the engine of this beast. We can’t wait to see how this turns out. Knowing @cat5_huracan it’s going to be out of this world…After all, the Huracan is definitely one of our favorite supercars.
The Huracan is the type of car that is just as at home on the track as it is on the road. It features active aerodynamics, forged carbon fiber, and a powerful V10 engine.
The Huracan has a unique look that makes it easy to spot, day or night.
This supercar looks superb, especially in green. The upgrades and modifications do it even more justice. It is sculptured and sensual in design, with its concept inspiration y the spiky hexagonal forms of the carbon atom and the traditional DNA of Lamborghini. It has sharp, streamlined lines yet an ergonomic shape that makes it perfect for cutting through the air and taming the road.
The Lamborghini Huracán is the quintessential amalgamation of technology and design.

In a world where devastation occurs at every corner, we are thankful for the friendly faces who came to the event and for people of South Florida being so strong about the adversity that faces us all.
Even with all the supremely captivating cars featured here, we must not overlook the situation that faces us. Moreover, we need to remain vigilant.
We impel those who are more fortunate to consider helping the underrepresented people who have been straitened by the effects of Hurricane Dorian.
Diamonds by Raymond Lee is supporting the Hurricane Relief in The Bahamas through Elnet Maritime Agency.

Many people of South Florida have prepared for the worst of the storm, but thankfully Hurricane Dorian took another path. Because of this, South Florida has become one of the biggest aids in the relief of Hurricane Dorian, offering up the supplies they bought to prepare for the storm to those in need. There are over 16 drop off location across Miami accepting donations of supplies and food.

About the Elnet Maritime Hurricane Relief Party
Elbert Hepburn, resident of Davie and a Bahamas native who owns the Freeport based Elnet Maritime Agency has put together the Elnet Maritime Hurricane Relief efforts in collaboration with other residents, business and agencies. They are now collecting supplies and have plans to deliver them as soon as the airports reopen.
Hepburn has committed to paying for 22 charter flights to deliver supplies.

30 years after the founding of Raymond Lee Jewelers (and only a year after the Diamonds by Raymond Lee brand was formed), Diamonds & Donuts car show was inaugurated.
