How Diamonds By Raymond Lee Supported Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Today is the last day of October (Happy Halloween!), and with that, we want to recap our efforts for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Here in South Florida, the month of October not only brings amazing weather, great football games, and pumpkin spice lattes, but it also brings the scattering of the color pink, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Diamonds By Raymond Lee effectuated this immensely important cause this past month in multiple ways, all of which we are about to share. In this post, we are going to discuss the importance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and our efforts for the cause. We are also going to show you pictures of local models wearing fine diamond jewelry, Pink Diamonds and Donuts Hats, and an Audemars Piguet ROO with a Pink Horus Watch Strap.

Importance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Everyone knows someone who’s been affected by breast cancer. 

This year my aunt had a double mastectomy, so this is a cause that truly touches home.

There are more women diagnosed with breast cancer than any other cancer, except skin cancer. 

Estimates state that around 268,000 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer, and around 62,000 women will be diagnosed with situ breast cancer (a non-invasive form of breast cancer, meaning it hasn’t spread out of the milk duct and has a low risk of turning invasive). 

And it’s not just women who are affected, around 2,600 men in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer as well. 

Not to mention, breast cancer directly affects the loved ones of those who are diagnosed.

Even more scary is the estimated 42,000 deaths that will occur this year from breast cancer. 

Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death from cancer in women in the U.S, the first being lung cancer. 

Fortunately, since 1989, the number of women who have died of breast cancer has firmly decreased thanks to improvements in treatments and early detection.

One of the big reasons for the increase in early detection is how prominent Breast Cancer Awareness has become.  

The Goal of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The goal of Breast Cancer Awareness Month is to raise the public’s awareness for breast cancer, its treatment, its detection, and the importance for a permanent cure. 

One of the ways to support the cause and raise awareness is to wear a pink ribbon, which is the international symbol for breast cancer awareness.

Moreover, wearing anything pink is a way to show moral support for women with breast cancer.

Wearing pink during October keeps the cause at the forefront of people’s minds. It’s a simple yet efficacious way to contribute to Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Every business and everyone who participates in Breast Cancer Awareness Month should be commended for making a difference. The cumulative efforts have helped many women around the world detect breast cancer and take action in time. 

Diamonds By Raymond Lee’s Breast Cancer Awareness Efforts

To honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Diamonds By Raymond Lee took action in a few ways.

Pink Hats & Hoodies

The first thing we did to raise awareness for Breast Cancer was put our whole team in Pink Diamonds and Donuts Hats and Hoodies. Whenever someone came into our store, they were greeted by our jewelry experts who were wearing the pink hats and hoodies. This simple effort was instantly recognized by our clients. People asked questions and many of them wanted a Pink Diamonds and Donuts Hat to help support the cause.

Photoshoots 

The next thing we did was a series of photoshoots with local South Florida models. We gave the models pink hats to wear, and, of course, gorgeous fine diamond jewelry and Swiss watches. As people love stunning diamond jewelry, it allowed our efforts to spread across social media in a captivatingly effective way. 

We even did one photoshoot with all pink diamond jewelry. We are talking pink diamond jewelry totaling well over a quarter million dollars. Definitely check that one out if you love “pretty in pink” things. 

Events

We held two events this month that raised money for Boca Regional Hospital Foundation, as they are doing breast cancer research.

On October 20th, we held our monthly Diamonds and Donuts Car Show. At our car show, we sold pink hats and all of the proceeds went to the Boca Regional Hospital Foundation.

For those who don’t know, Diamonds and Donuts is a regular car show event that we run at Diamonds by Raymond Lee in Boca Raton. Diamonds and Donuts sees the hottest cars that South Florida has to offer. We are talking exotics like Lambos, McLarens, Ferraris, Porsches, and American Muscle cars and fully built imports. At every Diamonds and Donuts event, we raise contributions for local causes. So, this month, the perfect cause was obvious – To support breast cancer research at Boca Regional Hospital Foundation.

The second event we ran was our Vegan Food Fest. This was last week on Saturday, the 26th. For this event, we had Kombucha on tap inside our showroom store. We collected 5 dollars a glass and again all of the proceeds went to Boca Regional Hospital Foundation for breast cancer research.

For those who don’t know, we have been throwing food truck nights for the past few months and they have been wonderfully successful. The best food trucks in the South Florida area set up shop in our parking lot, serving attendees deliciously innovative food that is undeniably “South Florida”. Like Diamonds and Donuts, our food truck events raise contributions for local causes. If you have a big appetite, and you love incredibly delectable dishes from a variety of cuisines, you’ll definitely want to come to our next food truck event.
