Aisle Style: Sheer Back Wedding Dress
Last week's Aisle Style had us fixated on criss cross back wedding dresses and we still can't shake our obsession with a dramatic back wedding gown. This week we're getting even more transparent with totally sheer back wedding dress picks. This gorgeous trend is a sexy twist on the backless gown, perfect for the bride who wants to leave a little something (but not too much) to the imagination. Our sheer back bride is likely rocking an antique style engagement ring with a big rose cut diamond, or perhaps a huge pear shaped solitaire - she's different, she's daring, and she definitely has her own chic sense of style. And we're of the opinion that personal style should always carry over into your wedding gown choice - you should feel like the most special version of yourself, not what you think a wedding dress should look like. Anyway, we'll get off of our Pinterest-inspired reclaimed wood DIY soapbox decorated with glitter and our wedding colors and get to showing off our favorite wedding dress choices of the week.
Soft by Rosa Clara 'Umbra'
The Umbra by Soft by Rosa Clara is an ethereal wedding gown perfect for channeling your inner Greek Goddess. Impossible soft yards of tulle fall form the empire waistline and gather at the one shoulder neckline. A modest neckline in the front saves the wow factor for the back with a beaded illusion back. The asymmetrical lining drapes diagonally across the back while beaded embroidered flowers grow from the lower corner to create a gorgeous and organic look. We like the soft blush color.
Soft by Rosa Clara 'Uma'
Another Rosa Clara confection, this dress makes our hearts stop and speed up at the same time. An old Hollywood style wedding dress, the Uma is a fit and flare beauty covered from illusion neckline to the knee in the most delicate seed pearls. The illusion neckline leads to an illusion back (with a keyhole opening) also lined with seed pearls. A belted waist anchors the bodice, which is covered in feather designs. Below the knee, the tulle gives way to actual feathers that fan out into a gorgeous train.
Angel Sanchez
This beautiful silk Angel Sanchez gown features a back-framing ruffle detail we simply can't get enough of. The soft sheer back panel is accented only by a single row of hook and eye buttons, creating a streamlined but somehow retro look to this gown.
Marchesa
A Marchesa wedding dress offers a more detailed take on this look, as is characteristic of the ice skater-esque design label. This beautiful gown features layers of unfinished tulle at the base of a mermaid skirt and an unfinished tulle peplum to accent the stunning embroidered bodice. Swirling icy white scrollwork climbs up the sheer paneled back too to seamlessly blend the two in a magical way.
