A Quest for Beauty: the Art of Van Cleef & Arpels:
Lasting from October 27, 2013 through February 15, 2014 visitors to The Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, California will be treated to a one of a kind exhibit entitled “A Quest for Beauty: the Art of Van Cleef & Arpels. The items exhibited will cover more than 100 years of history and will allow visitors unfettered access to view glamorous watches, precious exercises, beautiful jewelry and archival drawings. The exhibit will feature more than 200 pieces of art, jewelry and historical documents from the valuable private collections of Van Cleef & Arpels. Guests to the exhibit will be treated to a journey of what inspires the artistic masterpieces of jewelry maker Van Cleef & Arpels from nature to elegance to exoticism to femininity. Included in the exhibit will be never before seen jewels and accessories worn by celebrities and political figures ranging from Empress Farah Pahlavi to Elizabeth Taylor to Princess Grace Kelly. In addition, pieces worn by Jennifer Garner and Eva Mendes to end of the year award shows will be featured in the exhibit.
Star Sightings at the Exhibit:
Those looking to catch a glimpse of some of Hollywood’s A-list celebrities will want to look no further than the Van Cleef exhibit at The Bowers Museum. During the premier of the event on Saturday night, Hollywood celebrities including AnnaLynne McCord, Krysten Ritter and Camilla Belle looked stunning in beautiful dresses as they toured the rows of jewels, documents and artifacts displayed at the exhibit. McCord stole the red carpet leading into the exhibit with an elegant red dress and dazzling Van Cleef & Arpels jewels. However, the true beauty of McCord’s outfit was realized when she admitted that the Jil Stuart dress cost only $20 from a vintage store. Just goes to show you that diamonds go a long way in making any girl even more beautiful. Also in attendance was Susan Sarandon’s daughter Eva Amurri who wore a sophisticated yet simple black dress that was accentuated by diamond earrings. With the stars out in full force for the premiere of the exhibit, it is easy to see why Van Cleef & Arpels is one of the most sought after jewelers in the world. The annual fundraising event was attended by more than 300 guests and raised money to continue to sponsor the wonderful exhibits offered at The Bowers Museum. Guests of the gala were treated to hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and a three-course dinner.

With the jewels remaining in attendance until February 2014, plenty of time remains for you to visit the Van Cleef & Arpels Exhibit. Tickets to the exhibit can be purchased through The Bowers Museum website or by buying them in-person. While there is no guarantee that you’ll see a star while in attendance at the event, there is no doubt that you will leave mesmerized by the dazzling assortment of expensive artifacts.
