Step Outside the Box with Gold Wedding Dresses
Our unique vintage engagement ring eye candy worked up a thirst for all things unique on this lovely Wedding Wednesday. And while we swoon over brides who are visions in white, we love it when we see Vera Wang go dark, Oscar de la Renta go red, and pretty much everyone do something totally different. And what could make you feel like a million bucks more than a solid gold wedding dress for your big day? We’re not sure, but any of these would be a welcome addition to your sparkly new wedding ring!
This wedding, first of all, looks like the most fun ever. Bride Bailey wore a traditional Amsale gown to her ceremony, but for the surprise after party(!) she changed into a gilded, jaw-droppingly fun Monique Lhullier gold gown.
This Sarah Seven number debuted at Spring 2013 bridal fashion week and it’s been on our minds ever since. This delicate gold gown has yet to hit stores, so details on the design are minimal, but a gold threaded sheer overlay skims a body hugging trumpet silhouette with a fitted bodice. Stunning.
This metallic gold Romona Keveza gown has Grecian goddess written all over it. A ruched bodice with flowing skirt, one should detail and flyaway train is so fun, so glamorous, and perfect for a sophisticated wedding.
We’re suckers for anything Jenny Packham, especially when it’s a gown that pairs beautifully with our very own art deco jewelry (we can’t think of a better excuse to buy vintage jewelry!) The heavily embellished Joy gown is perfect for the fashion-forward bride who can pull off vintage.
The biggest name in wedding gowns never shies away from the unexpected, and her matte, muted gold gown from Fall 2012 is no exception. This Vera Wang gown’s romantic layers of sheer ruffles pair nicely with this shade of autumn gold. This gown is ideal for the bride who wants something different and glamorous, but might not want to go for full on metallic gold.
