Kevin & Laura’s Perfect Proposal on The Water

Love is in the air, along with Spring! We have seen an absolute phenomenon of RLJ couples getting engaged left and right! And today’s proposal story is one of our many favorites. We adore our beautiful location here in South Florida, so any time a proposal takes advantage of the quintessential Floridian lifestyle, we’re even more smitten. Add to this a gorgeous, sweet couple who were already part of the RLJ family (the groom’s Mom and sister are both RLJ Brides!) And we think groom Kevin pulled off the perfect Sunshine State proposal.

Kevin had picked out the perfect ring for his beautiful girlfriend, Laura, and we were happy to create her dream ring along with him. Once he had the rock, he just had to figure out the best way to ask – we think he did pretty darn well! On a gorgeous Sunday, Kevin took Laura, along with her family, out on his boat for the day. They cruised to their favorite beach, and as the boat slowed in the no wake zone, Kevin set his beautiful proposal in motion.

Laura, casually looking out over the bow, listening to the romantic stylings of Mr. Ed Sheeran, didn’t know that this particular rendition of “Thinking Out Loud” was playing just for her. Even once her new FIANCE (!) got her attention and pulled her closer, she was still in shock. While Kevin asked Laura to be his bride, his brother and brother in law were hidden, taking pictures from afar – but they weren’t the only ones!

After Laura said “YES!” cheering erupted from the nearby beach – Laura turned around and waved, realizing that even more of the happy couple’s family and close friends were waiting on the beach with a surprise engagement party! This is a proposal we’ll never tire of – sun, sand and true love? Sign us up. Not to mention, a beachside engagement party provides just the most perfect lighting to show off Laura’s gorgeous and classic 6 prong diamond solitaire!
