Last night, Russel Brand hosted the 2012 MTV Movie Awards in L.A. The stars, both of the A-List variety and the Paris Hilton type were out in full force. Now, the MTV Awards are notable for their hosts’ zany antics as they are for the more causal red carpet attire. Russel Brand didn’t disappoint with his gleeful teasing of the audience members (and his ex-wife Katy Perry), and neither did the gents who strolled the red carpet. Michael Fassbender

Shown here with his co-presenter and Prometheus costar Charlize Theron (in Lanvin & her favorite, Cartier), Michael Fassbender has proven that he can wear anything (or nothing) and look great. Here, he opts for a casually refined suit in a sleek finish with an unfussy white button down. The tie-less look, along with the beard, keep this ensemble looking cool, casual, and perfect for summer.

Andrew Garfield

The Amazing Spiderman looked pretty amazing himself last night, in a stylish short sleeve navy button down & fitted gray slacks. His striped tie is a conservative pattern, but the fun aqua & orange colors liven up his outfit. The shoes are the best part, and add a dash of sophistication to this look – Andrew proves that his red carpet style can keep up with his girlfriend Emma Stone’s!

Chris Hemsworth

Thor’s look is a bit more playful than Andrew’s conservative-with-a-twist style. He mixes up a vest and pant combo by eliminating the suit jacket and adding man cleavage. It might have just been hot in L.A. last night, so we’ll excuse the extra undone buttons, but it did give us a peek of his cool men’s necklace. Plus, those perfectly cuffed sleeves work well to show off his luxury watch (we can’t see what type it is, but it looks stainless & substantial). And, interestingly, Chris wore a pocket chain, which is unique, and works with this look.

Channing Tatum

Jacket? Check. Trendy Print button down? Check. Great fitting, cuffed jeans? Check. Channing Tatum, one of this year’s hottest stars & part of the cast for Magic Mike, nailed the casual look last night. We like that Channing wore his gingham shirt open over a crisp white tee, and added the jacket for a layered look. Plus, Channing masters the fitted denim look without looking like he’s suffocating his quads. Always a good thing. Not that he resisted the urge to add a questionable chain or necklace to his simple neckline. Channing keeps it classic with his wedding band as his only accessory.
