Diamonds by Raymond Lee has just installed 8 electric car charging stations at our retail showroom parking lot in Boca Raton. Our parking lot now has six Tesla Charging Stations and two Level 2 Electric Car Charging Station, so we can accommodate the needs of any BEV and PHEV.

Here is some info about our free Telsa Charging Stations that we’ve set up in our parking lot at Diamonds by Raymond Lee.
What kind of Tesla Chargers do we have?
We installed 6 Tesla Wall Connectors in our parking lot. All you have to do is pull into one of the parking spaces and plug-in!
The Tesla Wall Connectors are mounted to a post and are all outdoors, which makes for very easy access to our chargers.
Tesla Wall Connector Information:
A Tesla Wall Connector offers the fastest speed, with exception to the Tesla Superchargers.
Although Tesla doesn’t go by the term Level 2, Tesla “Connectors” are Level 2 chargers.
They use 240V electrical circuits, split phase circuits (similar to what is used for electric dyers and stove tops).
It has up to 80 AMPS with 3.7 – 17.2 kW power delivery. At Diamonds by Raymond Lee, we offer enough juice to support the maximum electrical currents.
They offer 9-52 miles of Tesla range per hour of charging.
*How much charge you will get depends on your Tesla model*.
Here are the maximum power intakes for Tesla:
- All Model S variants come with a standard 11.5 kW charging which will allow for a maximum of 32 miles per hour of charging on our Tesla Wall Connectors.
- All Model S variations with a “High Amperage Charger” can accept up to 17.2 kW of electrical current, which means they can reach the maximum of 52 miles per hour of charging.
Note: These are all Plug-in charging stations so they require drivers to manually connect and disconnect the vehicle from the outlet for each charging session.

Why We Choose the Tesla Wall Connector:
The Tesla Wall Connector is the most elegant and best permanent solution for charing Tesla vehicles.
It’s convenient and much less problematic than mobile connectors.
Tesla’s Mission:

2 Free (Level 2) EV Chargers in Boca Raton – Can Charge any Electric Vehicle!
We also have two EV charging station in our outdoor parking lot that can charge any electric vehicle in the market.
The Level 2 Electric Car Charging Stations are made by ClipperCreek.
They are accessible by simply parking in the parking space. Each charger can accommodate two vehicles at the same time.
ClipperCreek Level 2 Electric Car Charging Station Information:
The ClipperCreek electric vehicle charging station is a ruggedized 240v connection AC charging that can be used for pretty much all electric car makes and models.
The charging station features a rubber over-molded universal SA J1772 connector and a field-replaceable latch.
ClipperCreek EV charging stations are thoroughly tested for safety and are certified by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (ETL and UL).
ClipperCreek Level 2 Charging Stations range in electric current from 12 Amps to 80 Amps (2.8kW – 19.2+kW)
On average, this Level 2 charger offers 20 miles of range per hour of charge.
3-6 hours for a full charge, but 1-2 hours could be enough to “top of the car”.

Why is Level 2 EV Chargers the Best Option?
240V Level 2 Chargers provide a larger “pipeline” for electricity to flow to your EV. This allows your vehicle to charge 15 times faster than a level 1 charger.
This applies to both the ClipperCreek and Tesla Wall Connectors that are available at Diamonds by Raymond Lee.
How a Level 2 Charger Works:
A Level 2 EV Charger puts Alternating Current (AC) into your vehicle where it is then converted to Direct Current (DC) by an onboard charger. Then the DC is directed into the Tesla/EV battery. Most Level 2 chargers operate at 240 volts and consume 5,000 to 12,000 watts.
Level 2 chargers offer a wide range of charging speeds, which will depend on your vehicle.

Each Electric Car Charging Station in our parking lot is from the top EVSE companies – Telsa and ClipperCreek. Furthermore, they have undergone a thorough installation and inspection by done professional electricians at Rack Electric. So they are 100% safe to use. Plus, they are simple.

We used Tesla’s Installation Partner here in Boca Raton – Rack Electric.
Before we get into the installation process, here is a little info about Rack Electric.

Installation Process
We were very impressed by Rack Electric’s industry expertise and professionalism. The job was done efficiently and the final results were even better than we expected. Everything looks pristine, modern, and we can guarantee complete safety for the cars and people on our property. We highly recommend Rack Electric if you plan on doing a commercial or residential installation.
In short, this was the process for the installation of our 8 Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
First, we chose the contractor, which, as mentioned, was Tesla’s Installation Partner – Rack Electric.
Of course, we got permits from Boca Raton to set this in motion.
As our building is essentially brand new, our power source was good to go.
As for the equipment, we wanted to offer the fastest and most up-to-date charging stations so we bought the Level 2 Electric Vehicle Stations by the two best EV companies – Tesla (obvious choice) and ClipperCreek.
Steps for Installation:
1. Trenching.
Rack Electric planned out the route for the underground conduit. They did a project site walkthrough to survey the area looking for any potential challenges.
Furthermore, all underground utilities were marked to allow for a smooth trenching operation.
They were able to lure underneath the curbing and sidewalk easily.
2. Panel Boxes
The Panel Box was inspected and confirmed to be able to handle the load of electric current and power.
3. Installation of Conduit
They made sure the conduit was deep enough to make sure no pipes were exposed and to also ensure everything was clean and safe.
4. Inspection of Groundwork and Penetrations
Rack Electric inspected all phases of the installation, from the groundwork to the final.
Upon a successful inspection, they backfilled the trenches back to the ground’s original consistency. They paid particular attention to solid packing underneath the sidewalk.
5. Installation of Bracket Footing and Bollards
The considerations for the location of the charging stations and the bollards are to make sure the cords will not be a tripping hazard and that they can reach the receptacle on the vehicles.
Moreover, there was careful consideration for proper clearance maintained for pedestrian and wheelchair traffic.
Once the concrete foundations were poured for the charging stations, a template had been pre-constructed that was essentially the same bolt pattern as the bottom of the units. That was used to attach the foundation bolts and to sink those into the wet concrete to maintain a consistent level with the bottom of the unit.
After the concrete sets and dries, they removed the wood template and the bolts were in position and in alignment with the base of the units.
6. Installation of Charging Station on Mounting Bracket
There were individual feeds feeding each station – feeder conductors, neutrals, and green ground wires – that meet all National Electrical Code (NEC 625) standards.
Bollards were installed, set and leveled to the optimal height, then concrete was poured around them.
7. Testing of Charging Units
Finally, an engineer from Rack Electric performed functional tests on each unit. Everything passed the tests and we were finished!
How to Use The Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
They are very simple to use. All you need to do is plug them firmly into your vehicle.
There will be a blinking green light that lets you know the PSE as made it to the electric vehicle.
When the vehicle is complete, it will stop the charge and you will see a solid green light.
Light Color Meanings:
- White: The charge port door is open. Your car is ready to charge, but the connector is not inserted, or the latch is released and the connector is ready to be removed.
- Blue: Your car detects that a connector has been plugged in.
- Blinking Blue: Your car is communicating with the connector. Either it is preparing to charge, or a charging session is scheduled to begin at a specified future time.
- Blinking Green: Charging is in progress. As your car approaches a full charge, the frequency of the blinking slows.
- Solid Green: Charging is complete.
- Solid Amber: The connector is not fully plugged in. Realign the connector to the charge port and insert fully.
- Blinking Amber: Your car is charging at a reduced current (AC charging only).
- Red: A fault is detected and charging has stopped. Check the instrument panel or touchscreen for a fault message.
