Ed Westwick Philipp Plein: New Campaign, New Ambassador

Gossip Girl Star Ed Westwick has recently been named the new ambassador for the Fall 2012 and Winter 2013 collections by Philipp Plein.

Ed Westwick, a young British Actor, is best known for his role in the CW’s Gossip Girl as character Chuck Bass. “The television series character is noted for his financial ambition, hedonistic lifestyle and personal style.”

The style of Chuck Bass as portrayed in Gossip Girl comes to life in the sultry and seductive ad campaigns for the Philipp Plein clothing line. This particular collection by Plein is inspired by ‘nature and the wildest spirits,’ states Barbara Sini in a press release by Italian Vogue.

Westwick poses for the campaign with French model Sabrina Nait, in scenes that many are saying are ‘stylish and erotic.’

Following directly behind the Spring/Summer brand spokesmodel, Lindsay Lohan, Westwick will surely bring a different demographic of fashionista toward the Plein brand,  Showcasing the 1950s Mad-Men-esque style of plaid suits, bowties, fantastic patent leather shoes, stylish leather jackets, and amazing platform pumps.

The scenery of broken glass and adolescence mixed with the sultry sexual appeal that both models bring to the campaign, Philipp Plein was clearly looking to pitch this campaign into high-speed. Videos of the photo shoot, featuring famous fashion photographer Terry Richardson can be seen here.

Over recent years, Plein has worked with a number of prominent celebrities and companies, including Mischa Barton as the face of Philipp Plein’s Couture Collection in 2010, in 2008 his ‘Heavy Metal’ collection was featured on the likes of ‘America’s Next Top Model’ and in 2009, Plein cooperated with Mattel on a 50th Birthday edition of Philipp Plein Barbie.

Philipp Plein is a top name in the fashion industry, and with Ed Westwick as the new spokesperson, the brand will continue to grow.
