Diamonds and Donuts Boca Raton Car Show (March 3rd, 2019 Recap)
It was a beautiful day here in sunny South Florida this past Sunday at Diamonds and Donuts Boca Raton Car Show. We had a huge outcome for this month’s show. So many cars turned up and the crowd was huge. This month’s Diamonds and Donuts, which was held on March 3rd, 2019, benefited Spanish River High School Foundation. Here is the recap of the day.
Diamonds and Donuts Monthly Boca Raton Car Show – March 3rd
For those of you who don’t know, Diamonds and Donuts Boca Raton is an exotic car show held at Diamond by Raymond Lee each month. The car show brings together luxury vehicles, sports cars, exotics, and muscle cars with the purpose of raising money for local charity.
Diamonds and Donuts Car Show in Boca Raton is becoming recognized as one of South Florida’s hottest car show events.
Our parking lot becomes full of the best cars in the world, from top brands like McLaren, Ferarri, Lamborghini, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Aston Martin, Tesla, Audi, Nissan, Dodge, Ford, BMW and much more.
Owners of these amazing cars share stories and amazing features (and feats) of their cars with guests.
Furthermore, there are delicious foods from local vendors, coffee, and of course, donuts. The best part is, it’s all for a good cause.
Spanish River High School Foundation
This month’s charity benefited the Spanish River High School Foundation. The Spanish River High School Foundation is located in Boca Raton. The foundation raises money to supplement the public funding of education and enhance the climate of excellence for all Spanish River students. Besides them being a local group with a commendable cause, a reason we chose them for this month’s charity is that the CEO here at Diamonds by Raymond Lee is an alumni at Spanish River High School.
All of the proceeds from the event went to the foundation. We want to reach out and give our biggest appreciation to everyone involved for making this a super successful fundraising event this month. Not only did we all have a great time, but we also made a difference for our community.
Now, let’s take a victory lap – Highlights from Diamond and Donuts Boca Raton March 3rd Car Show:
@mickey3o5 brought out his 2001 Acura Integra Type R. This was a very limited special edition production Acura/Honda made. Below we take you through everything about this car, inside and out.
@mickey3o5’s immaculate Phoenix Yellow 2001 Acura Integra Type R was in attendance blowing minds and being rad.
The 2001 Integra Type R’s styling is visually the same from its pre-1999 counterparts, which is a huge plus for anyone who knows and loves Integra’s. The car is lightweight and its handling offers everything you’d want for the ultimate racing experience.
The specs on the 2001 Integra Type R, along with the modifications made by @mickey3o5, are noteworthy, explaining why this already radical car is on another level.
Let’s go into detail…
The Engine:
It has a Honda B16B (Type R) inline four-cylinder DOHC/SOHC engine. The power produces 170 HP @ 7,800 rpm with a torque of 160 Nm @ 7,300 rpm, and the redline is at 8,200 rpm. It layman terms, this thing can whip.

- K&N Intake elbow w/Blox velocity stack
- CJ’s Titanium spark plug cover
- Civic Type R N1 pulley
- Exedy Stage 1 clutch & lightweight flywheel
- Spoon Sports: radiator hoses, thermostat, fan switch, oil cap, radiator cap, spark plug wires, front strut bar, socks, magnetic oil drain plug.
The Interior:
The interior is just as impressive as the engine. It features JDM Integra Type R Recaro SRD seats which feel extremely secure for top speeds and sharp turns. Not to mention, they look badass and ride super comfortably.
It has an NRG Steering wheel short hub, which is designed so an aftermarket steering wheel can install with a quick release kit that mounts to the same location (not very close to the driver). He has a sexy Momo Tuner steering wheel w/CJ’s titanium hardware and an NRG 2.0 quick release. So what does all of this mean? It means he has serious control from behind the wheel.
The gauge is aftermarket as well, using a UKDM Guage cluster w/CJ’s titanium overlay. You gotta love seeing those dials spinning on this bad boy.
He has a JDM Integra Type R titanium shift knob, which, of course, is beautifully polished and heat treated. It rests within a JDM Integra Type R shift boot.
On the floor, his feet rest on clean UKDM Type R floormats.
Furthermore, he has a Sony Double Din radio and Kicker 6.5 speakers all around for cranking music.
At eye level, the car has a Spoon Sports rear view mirror, JDM dash clock delete, and on the passenger side a CDM passenger airbag delete.
In this photo below, it’s parked next to a Honda Civic Type R, which is Honda’s newest and latest special edition car.
The Exterior:
His Integra Type R sits on JDM 16″ Integra Type R wheels, with a Jdm ITR 36mm 5-lug suspension and 205/45/16 Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires. So you already know it grips the road like a pro. Plus, the wheels look superb with the Phoenix Yellow color.
On the hood, there is a VIS carbon vented hood and J’s Racing hood pins.
To the front, you can see First Molding Carbon Canards and Honda Access fog-lights with custom foglight covers.
Looking at the profile of the car take note of the Spoon Sports side view mirror glass and OEM JDM Integra window visors. When a car is this pristine, the small things need to be top notch too.
Now, as we head to the back of the car, we were met with a Spoon Sports B-pipe and a Spoon Sports N1 muffler. It sounds like car heaven. Furthermore, you have 98Spec JDM taillights, UKDM rear fog-lights, and a license plate extender. Additionally, the Golden Eagle rear tow hook, function form coilovers, a Skunk2 low tie bar, Function 7 rear lower control arms, and a Spoon Sports rear strut bar.
Every single element of this car has been carefully thought out and done with care.
As you can see, as much as we love our Ferraris, Lambos, McLarens, and such, the throwback, true car-nut-type-vehicles excite us just as much. There’s so much pride that goes into maintaining and upgrading these vehicles that even though the price point isn’t that astounding, the quality of craftsmanship surely is. This was easily one of our favorite cars of the month.
Now that’s not to take away from the other cars because we had SO MANY exquisite cars show up this month, many which were making their first appearance. Making it easily one of our best months ever. And, that’s saying a lot because every month we have plenty of jaw-droppers.
@signaturecustoms came back from the future in his custom Tesla Model S P85DL
The Tesla Model S P85DL has a twin-engine and produces 691bhp, allowing it to claim to be the world’s fastest accelerating four-door on the planet. We are talking so fast that your pulse-rate will rise with machine gun quickness.
It’s clear that we are living in the future when you see this car. The Tesla Model S P85DL is an electric car that feels faster than a Bugatti Veyron. It goes from standstill to 30mph in an instant, which is characterized by the one-of-a-kind Tesla whoosh. Now, in regards to it being faster than the Veyron, in actuality, the 0-60mph is the same, but the difference is, with the Telsa (in Ludicrous mode), you really don’t have to do anything. The Veyron is screaming through its V12 and the Telsa doesn’t even change gears (because it only has one). It feels so smooth that your perception of the 0-60 speed is thrown off…
Put simply, the car has freakish acceleration. So when you hit the pedal, you can feel your blood course through your veins and your eyeballs press into its socket. We sometimes wish that was a joke because it can be quite scary, especially from the passenger side.
Besides the incredible performance of the Tesla Model S P85DL, the car is absolutely stunning. Furthermore, this one, in particular, is uber decked out.

@I8DRest brought out his totally tricked out custom BMW i8 that is on air suspension, custom wheels and a Liberty Walk body kit.
It was an honor to have him at Diamonds and Donuts. His car was also at the most recent SEMA event in Las Vegas, Nevada, and it got a lot of attention.
Before we get into all of the modifications, let’s talk about the essentials, right out of the factory.
The car looks straight from the space-age. It’s great to drive. It is fast and it is agile. Up to take on any road conditions. Moreover, for such a superb car, it’s quite economical and a great tax-saver. Overall, it is the future for supercar buyers.
The gorgeous i8 has three distinct modes. You have sports mode, where the AWD driving performance matches BMW’s M4. Then you have Hybrid mode, which is tranquil and ultra-efficient. Finally, you have the purely electrical mode that reaches 75mph using the plug-in battery reserve alone.
The car has low drag and it’s light in weight, thanks to the carbon-fiber with aluminum subframes and lightweight exteriors panels.
In terms of mileage, the i8 gets 76 miles per gallon with the combination of petrol and electric. In pure gasoline mode (when the battery is drained empty), it gets 29 miles per gallon. So again, super efficient.
The engine power is 357bhp with 570Nm torque and it can go 0-62mph in 4.4 seconds with a top speed of 155mph.
Aftermarket Modifications
There’s been a good amount of work done on @I8DRest ’s car to get it to this caliber of awesomeness.
His car is the first ever Liberty Walk i8 done by LTMW out of California. It was done in collaboration with Liberty Walk Kato for Sema 2018.
He got a Velos Designwerks stage 2 Ecu Tune, which produces proper gains throughout the powerband.
There’s an Airlift 3LP suspension done by Slammered Inc (@slammered). This provides some of the most innovative air suspension control ever to exist.
The FI Exhaust titanium muffler reduces noise and improves engine power output at high speeds.
His GExhaust custom downpipe sounds incredible. The RODSPEED custom calipers and splitter rods produce the perfect downforce at high speeds. And, to top it all off, he equipped his i8 with Savini custom rims for that luxurious sporty look.
Mercedes Benz of Palm Beach turned up with a fleet of the newest Mercedes models to our show.
Unfortunately, we weren’t able to grab a great photo of the entire fleet they brought out…
BUT we did capture a Mercedes Benz AMG GTR from another exotic car enthusiast that blessed Diamonds and Donuts with that Mercedes love.

You need to be careful when the AMG GTR rolls by. You are liable to break your neck from its head-turning good looks.
The car has intense acceleration. With that said, it has a gentle and progressive tuning to the throttle, so you can allot the exact amount of power that you want with ease. Overall, the GT R doesn’t get jumpy or hyperactive, it’s smooth as butter. Plus, it sounds great.
Furthermore, it has a high-G grip for precise handling.
Mercedes kept the weight down on this one by utilizing carbon fiber nearly everywhere.
Both the handling and weight are important factors for its speed. It delivers a whopping 577 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque with a top speed of 198 mph. The AMG GTR accelerates from 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds.
@petfred came through in his McLaren 675LT
We’ve often had McLaren’s rolling through our car show (gotta love McLaren, the exotic of exotics), but this is the first time we’ve had a 675LT show-up.
At the pinnacle of the McLaren’s Super Series rest the 675LT (the big bro of the 650S). Comparatively, it’s lighter, more focused, and more powerful (and this isn’t an easy feat or an easy statement to make when it comes to McLaren).
The 675 LongTail has power to 666bhp and torque to 516lb ft. It will sprint to 62mph in just 2.9 seconds and 124mph in 7.9 seconds. Moreover, it reaches a top speed of 205mph.
So how much does this supercar cost? Well over a quarter million dollars. $330,000+ to be exact.

@lambo_laparl showed up in his Lamborghini Huracán Performante
The Lamborghini Huracán Performante has altered the notion of sports cars and taken the perception of performance to new heights. This car was completely re-engineered in terms of weight, engine power, framework, and, most especially, aerodynamics. This luxury workhorse is extremely aerodynamic.
By using Lambo’s patented shapable forged carbon fiber material called Forged Composites®, the car was designed to be ultra lightweight. Combine this with its aerodynamics and this thing can cut through the air like no other.
Beyond the remarkable technological features, the car evokes an entirely new concept of beauty. It will stand out in any crowd, even the Diamonds and Donuts car show’s exotic crowd.
@blurazor has a few outstanding cars in his fleet and today he turned up with his Mclaren 720s. This one is definitely a show stopper.
The McLaren 720s is one of the main competition of the Ferrari 488 GTB. McLaren’s 720S is one of the only cars that can go toe for toe with their P1, at least without the use of any complex hybrid systems.
The headline figures 720 HP, hence the name 720S. It can whip to 200 MPH in a cool sprint. The standing quarter-mile is a mere 10.3 seconds. Yikes, right? Furthermore, it goes 0-60 in 2.9 seconds.
You won’t be able to put this baby to the test without bringing it to the track, which is a must if you own a 720S. The traction on this automobile is superb, plus the electric steering makes controlling it super quick and easy.
If you want to own a 720S, you only have to spend $280,000…only (smh).
@sv_aventador pleased the crowd with his Lamborghini Adventador SV
This Lamborghini Adventador SV (SV for SuperVeloce, meaning super fast) is one of 600 in existence. An endangered species.
You are looking at a base price of half a MILLION dollar for this puppy.
The Aventador SV is extremely gorgeous. The style and design are impeccable, from the smallest elements to the car as a whole. No one does aerodynamic, lightweight, and luxury quite like Lamborghini. The large-scale use of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP), among other refined materials, made it possible for Lambo to achieve a never before seen reduction in weight between models. How much weight did they drop? The SV is a full 50 kg less than the Aventador Roadster.
For those who are speed greedy, this is the one. It hits a top speed of 217 mph and does 0-62mph in 2.8 seconds. Yowzers. That’s the real deal.
There was another McLaren at the show thanks to @verdelandis. He blessed us with the McLaren 650s Spider.
The McLaren 650s Spider has exquisite materials and race-bred technology. The interior is luxurious, the design is uncompromised, and the engineering is extremely innovative. This supercar hits 60mph in under three seconds. Its got a 204mph top speed. So driving this is taking part in five decades of Formula 1 success altered for the road.
Base price, a couple hundred thousand dollars. What’s that to a baller, though?
@verdelandis has a large armada of exotic cars, so we are wondering…what’s he getting next? Everyone will have to wait and see at the next Diamonds & Donuts.
PS. he likes to hand out stuffed animal Nintendo characters at charity events. The guy is a blast.
@gold_m11 took his Green Lambo to the show.
This Verde Mantis Lambo sits on Velos Wheels, which are straight fire, and it has a front splitter that adds to the already aggressive look (even though he calls it his princess, this exotic is a sexy beast). You can find @gold_m11 driving around South Florida or hitting the tracks. The need for speed is real.
But with him, as much as he loves fancy cars, he loves giving back. He is a regular at Diamonds and Donuts Boca Car Show and he gets involved in other fundraising events here in South Florida. For example, he was recently part of the Ride to Revive.

An all-around good guy a true supercar fanatic.
Mopar had one of their biggest annual car meets on the same day but it definitely didn’t hurt the presence of Mopar cars at Diamonds and Donuts.
