Yesterday,  26 year-old Webb Simpson emerged triumphant at the Olympic Club, beating out the likes of Graeme McDowell, Michael Thompson, David Toms, Jim Furyk and Tiger Woods to become the 112th U.S. Open champion.The North Carolina native beat out the best of pro golf's major players (and the San Francisco fog) to claim his first major title yesterday. His game included a "mid-round run of four birdies in five holes" and he finished 1 over par & three groups ahead of McDowell & Furyk. Of course, given that it's Masculine Monday, and that the sport of golf has close ties to top-notch fashion & watches, we must mention that Esquire has deemed Simpson's ensemble the U.S. Open champion as well.

"Those tattersall pants were not too dandy (or dressy) to play excellent golf in, yet added a nice point of interest to his classic look on top. And that's a nice Ralph Lauren cardigan — so what if they're his sponsor, as they've seemed to reduce the size of that Big Pony — and a classic white collar beneath."

We agree. Webb's fashion a-game deserves a golf clap.
