Hermes, Jaeger & Saint-Louis Team Up to Create Atmos clock
The creative director of Hermes calls it “retro-futurism”. It is an eye popping piece of work that combines the talents at Hermes and Jaeger LeCoultre and Les Cristalleries Saint Louis in creating The Atmos Clock.

Saint Louis, which was acquired by Hermes back in 1989, creates high-end glassware products for Hermes, and this Atmos clock certainly shows off their work. The clock made its debut recently in Paris.
Some have taken their swings at the clock, saying it has the appearance of an oversized golf ball. Never the less, the creation won’t need many suitors to make it a success. Only 176 of the limited edition timepieces have been created. The price you ask? Each tees up at a price of $39,100.
The clock's hand-blown crystal and enamel case surrounds a unique movement that provides the power for the Atmos. The movement is actually powered by the temperature changes in the room. It doesn’t take much change to power the clock either. A shift in temperature of just 1 degree (centigrade) will power the movement for up to 2 days. The power is provided by a small encased gas chamber situated at the rear of the movement.
The three organizations teaming up on the project represent almost 800 years of experience in their respective businesses. With this type of craftsmanship, design and engineering one would expect the Atmos to be above par...and it certainly is.
