Engagement Ring Eye Candy: Beautiful Bezel Set Engagement Rings
Happy Wedding Wednesday readers! Today we’re drooling over bezel set engagement rings, one of our favorite forms of e-ring eye candy. The bezel setting is one of the oldest settings, but lends a surprisingly modern look to any ring – even our antique engagement rings!
The bezel setting is a metal (typically gold or platinum) rim that has a groove and lip that hold a gemstone in place. It’s shaped around the stone and then soldered into place before the diamond is pressed into the bezel and the lip encloses the diamond’s pavilion. There are variations, like the partial bezel set engagement ring we’re showing off today, and sometimes the lip of the bezel is patterned or scalloped.
It lends itself beautifully to round stones, and the snug fit of the metal around the diamond lends extra stretching room to your budget – the diamond doesn’t need to be as high of quality as it would in a sparser setting, like 4 or 6 prong. The beautiful bezel setting is perfect for women who are active, work with their hands, or are simply always on the go, as the smooth metal rim protects stones from chipping, scratching, dirt and debris. We adore bezel set engagement rings, and have picked a few of our favorites from the online showroom:
