Welcome to our Audemars Piguet Iced Out Royal Oak Offshore Diamond Review; hi-resolution photos and backstories included.
The Case
Surrounded by a boat-load of diamonds, this AP ROO watch is considerably compact at 14.6mm thick and 42mm across the round of the case (not including crown, guards, and chronograph pushers).
The AP Royal Oak 25940 has an imposing 54mm lug to lug that is associated with the 42mm Offshore. If you were to measure the plots, which are actually intermediate links that joined the strap to the case, you can see how they rigidly flare and force the watch out. So much so that it spans a meaty 58mm across the wrist.
The stainless steel case is entirely set with diamonds. Character lines of the case align with the bezel impeccably. The alignment is charming, and the definition is excellent.
You’ll also note the use of screws to fix the strap to the case. This is the way it should be with any expensive, oversized sports watch. Although the screws will make swapping straps a slightly longer process, it’s well worth it for the security they provide. Screws offer far more security and peace of mind compared to spring bars.
The diamond-covered case is the definition of Audemars Piguet – high-end, extravagant and super wet. It’s rare to find such an icy sport watch, and no other watch is more suitable for a diamond set case than the Royal Oak Offshore.
Pushpieces
You will notice the chronograph pushers are slighty out of alignment with the crown. This is a quirk that has been part of the Offshore line since 1993. The pushpiece-guards which are set to the case boost the dependability and strong lines of this superbly technical and innovative performance model.
The Dial
The dial is extremely handsome. It has a black chequered (Clous de Paris) texture, aka Tapisserie, Arabic dial.
Inner perimeter marked with a Tachymetric scale which allows you to gauge the speed of an object over a fixed distance; such as a standing mile. So you have that functionality which is awesome, plus the visual is aesthetically pleasing.
Of course it has the sunken datemodular chronograph as do all Offshore’s.
The hands have a luminescent coating with a deliberate light key lime pie color. This is a welcome splash of color on a watch that would otherwise have a bi-chromatic combination of silver and black.
It has 3 silver sub dials that provide constant seconds, chronograph 30-minute totalizers, and 12-hour totalizer.
Furthermore, it has a Q-set aperture at its 3 o’clock with a magnifying glass. And it’s all covered by glare-proofed sapphire crystal glass.
The Bezel
This AP Royal Oak Offshore edition is commonly referred to as the “Rubber Clad” because of its rubber coated bezel. The rubber coated bezel protects the most vulnerable surfaces from scratches and abrasions. As much as we like the original look and as cool as it is for a sports watch, we decided to ice out this Royal Oak Offshore Rubber Clad.
Why? Because what’s stronger than rubber? Diamonds, that’s what.
By carefully removing the rubber bezel and setting the stainless steel with aftermarket diamonds, we took this AP Royal Oak Offshore to the next level.
The diamond-covered bezel and case is the definition of bling and if you aren’t comfortable with showing off than this watch isn’t for you.
However, if you like when people notice your watch, and we are talking from damn-near a mile away, then this AP iced out sports watch has your name written all over it. It will have you shining bright and lighting up any room you step foot in.
Our personalized AP Royal Oak Offshore Diamond Aftermarket watch is the epitome of a luxury sport watch – the king of blinged-out sports chronographs
Audemars Piguet Movement – Royal Oak Offshore 25940
Firstly, on the case back, you can find the serial number. The case back bolt screws match the style of the bezel.
It may seem like the bolts of the two interact but in fact the case back’s bolts merely secures the case back to the case.
Nevertheless, sandwiched between those two components is an in-house Audemars Piguet calibre 2226/2840. The thin and fine horology movement is a Vertical Clutch Chronograph Module. It consists of 370 parts and the natural movement of your wrist completely power the watch. It has a power reserve of 40 hours and ticks at 28800 beats per hour.
Furthermore, it has hacking seconds so you can stop the seconds, including constant seconds to synchronize to a reference time. There is a quick set for the date so you can rapidly set it.
AP ROO Diver Rubber Strap and Diamond Covered Pin Buckle
Although this watch has a large face and would be perfect for a bigger wrist, the diver style rubber strap gives it the ability to fit a wrist of any size. Thanks to the innovative diver style strap, and supple natural volcanized rubber, it will easily trace the arc of a smaller wrist. This watch would work even for a small wrist with a 15cm circumference due to the flexibility of the strap.
Furthermore, the strap is extremely comfortable. The cut lines visually extend the plots to create continuous, aesthetically pleasing streaks that run from the lugs to the buckle. They also clear enough material to make the strap very flexible.
The buckle is simple yet extravagant, using an Audemars Piguet diamond finished deployant pin buckle. Therefore, it is perfect for any condition, such as hot or cold weather.
Additionally, we love this buckle as you can quickly size the strap as your wrist expands or contracts.
Audemars Piguet Iced Out Royal Oak Offshore On The Wrist
As far as the watch game goes, men’s diamond watches are on top. This personalized luxury sports watch from Audemars Piguet is a timepiece that demands attention and makes a bold statement.
The combination of rubber on stainless steel with diamonds offers the perfect contrast. This is a watch that is hard to take your eyes off of.
Walk in with this watch and people will know you mean business.
Water resistance
Plus, thanks to the screw down crown, burly architecture of the watch, 100-meter water resistance, and diver style strap, you’ll be able to jump into the water with this one without any worries.
Aftermarket Diamonds – Customization
Iced Out watches have always been in style and fashion. But lately the popularity of customizing a watch, and in particular an Audemars Piguet, with aftermarket diamonds, is increasing fast.
It’s like a work of art; in fact it is a work of art. Take just one glance at the watch and you can see that.
This is what you call meticulous work. With this much ice you’d think your wrist would freeze if you rock it.
Icey
The finest diamonds on the market completely cover the case, bezel and pin buckle on the strap. Plus, take note that the side of the case is also set, which many aftermarket diamond watches forgo, adding a whole lot more of total carats.
Although there is a factory version of the Royal Oak Offshore with diamonds, it only comes in Rose Gold. And, since this one is Stainless Steel, you already know it’s upgraded and customized with Aftermarket Diamonds.
This AP ROO Diamond watch was made to look like a factory set one. The process isn’t simple; it took a lot of time, as the watch was drilled out to set the diamonds.
It’s not an easy feat to customize and make an Audemars Piguet Iced Out like this. Diamonds by Raymond Lee implemented their exquisite craftsmanship and gem-setting technique for this AP Royal Oak Offshore.
We are the best of the best when it comes to jewelers in Florida, and everything jewelry, diamonds and watches. The setting on this watch is of the highest quality
One benefit of buying an aftermarket diamond AP Royal Oak Offshore is that it will cost less than a factory set diamond watch, yet all the other aspects of the watch are equal. So essentially, you get all the bling and quality of a factory set diamond watch, but at a better price.

You’ll have all the guarantees you could ask for with this AP Royal Oak Offshore Diamond watch – Guaranteed quality, guaranteed service, guaranteed shine, guaranteed impressiveness.
Diamonds cover the bezel impeccably and you can be sure with Diamonds by Raymond Lee (and Raymond Lee Jeweler) at the forefront of this aftermarket diamond upgrade, this was done extremely well and is meant to last multiple lifetimes. This is the watch that you pass down generation to generation, each feeling the power of elitism more than the next.
Different Generations of the AP 25940
There are a two different series within the Rubber Clad production period. This Rubber Clad debuted in 2002 and was from the first generation of AP 25940s.
In our opinion, there are three generations of the Royal Oak Offshore Rubberclad; yet the Audemars Piguet ROO Rubberclad ref.25940 only has two different generations.
The first generation of the AP Royal Oak Offshore Rubberclad, which is commonly known as the ‘Original Old School’, was in production from 2002 and 2012; the second generation, which is typically known as the ‘Last One’, was produced more briefly, from 2012 to 2013.
The two generations don the same reference number of 25940 and are set with a 42mm case. Only subtle differences separate the two generations of the Rubberclad.
The third generation, which not many people know of, was only made for the 18k pink gold model. The third generation of the Rubber Clad pronounced the formal discontinuation of this iconic Royal Oak Offshore in 2013.
The watch in this Audemars Piguet Iced out Royal Oak Offshore review is from the first generation of the Rubber Clads.
History of Audemars Piguet Watches
Audemars Piguet was founded in 1875 in France. It was a small town named Le Brassus, in the heart of the Valle de Joux, were the brand was formed. During the time of its birth, the region, which is a highland known for farming, would turn to watchmaking during the harsh winter season. This was possible due to the great natural supply of iron oxide, which came from the same fertile grounds they farmed from.
Although many townspeople turned to watchmaking as a profession, it was Edward Auguste Piguet and Jules Louis Audemars who were able to form a brand that is now known across the globe for its luxury, and elite status.
To this day, the founder’s family still independently owns Audemars Piguet. The company has been passed down generation to generation. And, with each generation, an understanding for the market is captured and executed to perfection. This ability to transcend with the changing times and trends is the reason why this brand has continued to be a preferred timepiece worldwide, decade after decade.
In-depth look at the history of the Royal Oak Offshore
In 1972, Audemars Piguet made a remarkable move; they sold a stainless steel watch with an exorbitant design for 10x the price of a Rolex Submariner. The concept was a luxury sports watch, th first of its kind.
It ended up being a very advantageous plan. The Royal Oak Offshore became one of the most sought-after watches ever by the economically elite.
The Royal Oak Offshore, originally named the Jumbo, is easily the brands most iconic watch. A crazy thing about this watch is, it only took a day to design.
“Rubber-Clad”
One of the most popular models in the Royal Oak Offshore collection is the Rubber Clad, with its distinguishable rubber bezel. The Royal Oak Offshore featured in this Audemars Piguet Iced Outwatch review is a Rubber Clad 25940.
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Rubber Clad is surely one for the books. The debut of the Rubber Clad in 2002 secured its iconic persona for the 21st Century.
