Flashy NFL Jewelry

Flashy NFL Jewelry

According to The Guardian, NFL Players are averaging $1.9 million per year in salary in 2012, with the median player salary at $770,000. With dough like that, and the endorsement deals that many of the top players in the league sign, their salaries allow for a life of utmost luxury throughout the life of a contract—let alone their careers.

While there are occasionally some modest players that don’t necessarily flaunt their wealth, why not? Your jewelry is a statement of your success and your social standing. With this in mind, if I had the type of earnings of some of these players, I’d be decked out in diamonds and gold.

Here’s a look at some of the flashy and fancy jewelry worn by some of the biggest names in the NFL.

Quarterback Mark Sanchez of the New York Jets has made himself somewhat of a household name. Whether you love him or hate him, this 2009 first round draft pick has quickly climbed to the top, netting himself a $50 million, 5-year contract with the team.

On the cover of GQ Magazine, Sanchez sported some team spirit–a New York Jet’s green Rolex Submariner.

This Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner watch was crafted with the upmost quality and reliability, waterproof up to 300 meters, and sports a retail price starting at around $9,000.

Tom Brady, famed quarterback for the New England Patriots, recently acted as spokesperson for luxury brand Movado. Pushing the Movado Series 800, which retails for about $1500, he was also seen on the red carpet at an event sporting the same watch.

We know that NFL players don’t just wear watches–and it’s not just the quarterbacks rolling in dough.

Running back Reggie Bush gained his fame on the New Orleans Saints winning a Superbowl title in 2010. Bush was in the public eye frequently back then, having dated Kim Kardashian for a while. Today, Bush is an outstanding running back helping the Miami Dolphins bring back some team credibility alongside other great players like rookie QB Ryan Tannehill and offensive tackle Jake Long.

No stranger to style, Reggie Bush is frequently spotted with these diamond studs. Speculated to be a karat each or larger, the set has been said to be worth about $90k.

Dez Bryant, wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, knows nothing and a lot about flashy jewelry. On the field during a 2010 game between the Cowboys and the New York Giants, Bryant allegedly lost his $50,000 diamond stud. While it was found and returned after the game, Bryant, a year later, faced a lawsuit to the tune of $861,350 for jewelry [allegedly] taken without payment and legal fees.

The 8-10 custom jewelry orders that Bryant sought from luxury jewelry outfitter, Rafaello & Co. in New York, totalled roughly $261k. At the time of the lawsuit filing, only $21k of the balance had been paid. The lawsuit has since been worked out in court. It’s unclear whether Bryant was purchasing pieces for himself, or his then iced-out girlfriend, Lea Michele.

While all professional football players have different methods of spending or investing their money, one thing is clear: NFL players are diamond and gold-studded connoisseurs of the finer things in life.
