Halle Berry’s four carat emerald center stone engagement ring was somewhat of a mystery. Rumored to have hidden codes and symbols, the magnificent band is said to be one of a kind.
Robert Mazlo, the Paris-based jeweler who designed the ring reportedly told Us Weekly that the ring contains codes and symbols that can’t be seen by anyone other than the person wearing it. The piece was hand-forged and “could never be replaced” according to Oliver Martinez, Berry’s husband-to-be. He decided on an emerald thanks to a 500-year-old “alchemy test” administered by Mazlo.
In contrast, Britney Spear’s more traditional, three carat engagement ring is a round brilliant solitaire on a diamond pave band. There also are 90 small round diamonds that wrap all around the basket to create a completely diamond-studded classic look designed by Neil Lane.
