Inspired and taught by his craftsmen father, David Yurman began pursuing his love for creativity and design when he was only 16 years old. He worked under an artist and sculptor for many years, allowing him to explore his creative talent. After marrying his wife Sybil, they entered into the jewelry industry together under the name Designer Inc in 1979, which then became the David Yurman brand. In 1982, he introduced his signature cable bracelet, which grew widely popular and is still in production today. Some of his most notable collections are Silver Ice, Petite Albion, Bijoux, Cable Buckle, Noblesse, and Thoroughbred. Many of his designs consist of twisted sterling silver with 18 or 14kt gold accents and colored gemstones. There are many David Yurman jewelry boutiques worldwide including New York, Hong Kong and Macau, and his jewelry lines are featured in many high end department stores, such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus, as well as many fine jewelry retailers.
