New York Giants Super Bowl XLVI Rings Unveiled

Giants Super Bowl Rings

Tiffany & Co. presents the Super Bowl XLVI rings to the world champion New York Giants in Manhattan

The Giants’ Super Bowl XLVI Championship rings have finally been unveiled. Wednesday night, the team, coaches & staff gathered at Tiffany & Co. in New York to be presented with their brand new bling.

The ring is crafted in 14kt white gold and set with 1.36 carats of diamonds that comprise the New York Giants’ logo, and the footballs atop four Vince Lombardi trophies. Each trophy pays homage to the 4 Super Bowls that the Giants have won – 1986, 1990, 2007 and 2011. The diamonds are paved onto the background of the ring’s face as well.

The NY logo itself is surrounded by blue sapphires, and blue sapphires also surround the entire face of the ring, weighing in at 1.11 carats total. The blue sapphires symbolize the Giants’ team colors, their moniker “Big Blue” and function as an aesthetic touch that adds a welcome pop of color to the Super Bowl Ring.

The rings are engraved with “New York Giants 2011 World Champions around the ring’s table, and the sides of the rings are engraved with the Giants logo, the Vince Lombardi trophy and 2011 to one side, with the players’ names and Jersey numbers on the other side.

The ring also includes the final score of 21-17, and the words “Finish” and “All In” engraved on the inside. Both inner engravings were team mantras through the season and playoffs, and were very meaningful to the players and coaches.

The team captains Eli Manning, Justin Tuck and Zak DeOssie, along with the ownership and head coach Tom Coughlin collaborated with Tiffany & Co. to create the rings. Manning stated that “The blue makes it a little different. We wanted something blue…to spark it up a little bit.”

Tuck added “We want to make [the Giants] a dynasty,” in reference to the multiple trophies depicted on the ring. Tuck also had big plans for the ring he helped design, taking advice from Michael Strahan that he should “Get the biggest and baddest one you can get.” Overall, Tuck said he is “pretty proud of what [they] did create.”

The ring is a (giant, appropriately) beauty. The sapphires do add a touch of unexpected color to the ring, but Tiffany & Co.’s timeless design shines all the more with them.
