Watch of the Week: the Breitling Windrider Antares

Watch of the Week: the Breitling Windrider Antares

This week, we’re having a Breitling moment. Namely, we’re all about this Breitling Windrider Antares B10048.

Produced in the 1990’s, the Antares was Breitling’s first foray into gents wristwatches. It’s the predecessor to Breitling’s Cockpit Bigdate and the Wings Automatic. The watch features a thin B10 movement that allows its case to keep a slim profile, befitting the elegant nature of the watch. A tightly linked Pilot bracelet in stainless steel meets gently sloped 20mm lugs on a SS case with yellow gold accents. The unidirectional bezel’s yellow gold markers tie nicely to the sticks on the dial, also white and accented in yellow gold. We like the minimal approach to the numbering on the watch, along with its understated elegance. It’s not a wristclock by any stretch of the imagination, but its 40mm case is far from diminutive. All you need to take away from this Watch of the Week is that if George Clooney were a pilot, he’d wear this watch.
